Job Description
The Transport Officer is responsible for managing the school’s transportation system, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transport services for students and staff. The role includes supervision of drivers and attendants, route planning, vehicle maintenance coordination, compliance with transport regulations, and parent communication related to transport operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Operations
Plan and manage daily school bus operations.
Prepare and optimize bus routes and schedules.
Ensure timely pickup and drop of students.
Monitor vehicle movement and GPS tracking systems.
Handle transport-related emergencies and route changes.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with school transport safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections of buses.
Verify valid licenses, permits, insurance, and fitness certificates.
Ensure drivers and attendants follow safety protocols and discipline standards.
Conduct evacuation drills and safety awareness programs.
Fleet Management
Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Maintain records of fuel consumption, maintenance, and vehicle performance.
Monitor cleanliness and roadworthiness of all buses.
Staff Supervision
Supervise drivers, cleaners, and bus attendants.
Maintain duty rosters and attendance records.
Conduct periodic performance reviews and training sessions.
Parent & School Coordination
Address parent concerns regarding transport services.
Coordinate with school administration for special trips/events.
Provide updates regarding delays, route changes, or emergencies.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain transport records, route charts, and student transport data.
Prepare monthly operational and expense reports.
Ensure proper incident and accident reporting procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Administration, Logistics, Transport Management, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in transport or fleet management.
Experience in school transport operations preferred.
Knowledge of transport safety regulations and vehicle maintenance.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
